About the Logo...

The InfoShop website logo used on our navigation bar isn't just some random nifty graphic we pulled off the web... it has years of local activist history behind it!
The logo is taken from one of the banners of the UW-Greens, an awesome old student organization on the UW campus responsible for many great campaigns and actions over the years.
The Greens were a non-partisan, non-hierarchical, direct-action oriented organization, focused on an amazingly diverse range of issues. Their motto was Educate, Agitate, Organize, and that's exactly what they did. Many of the projects and groups that are associated with the InfoShop today have their roots in the work of the UW-Greens, in fact, the InfoShop itself was established by the UW-Greens and was long known as the "UW-Greens InfoShop."
While the Greens no longer exist, their legacy lives on here at the Madison InfoShop. One distinguishing factor of the UW-Greens was their focus on uniting campus with the broader community to bring about social change--a mission that continues to be the heart of the Madison InfoShop.
